Today is the big day....it's our court date to finalize the adoption.... I'm so excited... I got up pretty early, couldn't sleep - just full of anticipation. So I got up and showered then got Olivia up, got her changed, cleaned and dressed. Got Kurt up, went and got us coffee (what a mess, the seam in the cup came apart and coffee got all over me). So had to rush home, get cleaned up again and head out.. while doing so I dropped my phone (it slid under the car seat but I didn't know that until I got home from court). So needless to say, we were running pretty late. We got to the court house around 8:25, Court started at 8:30 - so we just made it in time. My parents, Ivy and Hudson were there already, Sandra showed up just a little bit after that. It was a really quick court session, the judge said that we had a glowing recommendation from the agency and that he approved the adoption. :) We then got our picture taken with the judge, it was so awesome. After that, we celebrated at Denny's with breakfast. It felt like a ton of bricks fell off my shoulder, no more worrying about the adoption, it's done - Olivia had been our daughter but now it's official. Olivia Anne Turnquist-Stanley.... so after breakfast, we came home and then rested for a bit. Olivia was asleep. Watched a movie and when Olivia got up, her and I went for a run (I ran, she rode in the running stroller, how lazy... I know). Anyway - after that, did a shoulder workout and watched waitress (the movie). Kurt got some sleep since he worked the night before. After that, made some dinner and then we played with Olivia and I cleaned up a bit. At 8:00 pm, I picked up Julia and watched Olivia for us so we could go celebrate. We had a really fun evening, went to Pronto and then hung out with Mike and Dan for the evening. Real nice night. Got home and Kurt took Julia home while I let the dogs out, Olivia woke up so I rocked her for a bit before she fell back to sleep.
